Drs. Sandra and Joseph Jacobson whose paper, Effects of prenatal alcohol exposure on cognitive and behavioral development: Findings from a hierarchical meta-analysis of data from six prospective longitudinal U.S. cohorts was published in Alcoholism: Clinical and Experimental Research. This is the first paper from their NIAAA-funded secondary analysis study on data from 2236 children from six prospective longitudinal cohorts in four U.S. cities: Detroit, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, and Seattle. This paper uses innovative individual-participant meta-analytic techniques to integrate the data from these cohorts to examine effects of prenatal alcohol exposure on cognitive and behavioral function from early school age through young adulthood.
